Week of April 26, 2011: Kangaroo "I am Safe in God"

So for the rest of our lessons we have kicked it up into double time to get through the school year by the first week in June. We are doing all the busy work first which will take us to 2 sometimes 3 lessons a week, then the last week we will go back through and do the activity for the lessons and learn the character qualities. Not exactly what I had in mind to do but since we had to take so much time off this year for the new baby, and the morning sickness the beginning of the year...I want to make sure we get in all the academics before the end of the year. Then the activities will happen later!

Week of April 18th: Penguin "I Show love to everyone, especially my family"

Today we learned about Penguins. We learned how much they love their families! When the female lays an egg the male holds it between his feet and keeps it warm until it hatches for two whole months, and doesn't eat! God wants us to be kind to Everyone in our family. He wants us to love them and be kind to them!

We learned that penguins live on a cold climate where there are icebergs, so we put some ice in a bucket of water to get a feel for what icebergs actually are.
