August 4, 2010- "SUN" Jesus is the light of the world.

So today we started off with A- practicing some handwriting, and S- threading her letter S. They did a fantastic job!!

Both of them got to take out the sticks that we've put in the jar so far after we added one for today and count them out for our 100 chart. We also updated our calendar today as well as our 100 chart.

We did our science experiment today to the best of our ability since it was raining out. We took some grapes and talked about how if we put them in the sun they will turn to raisins. So we put some in a bowl and put them on the window sill until we can get them outside for now. We'll check them each day to see how many days it takes for them to turn to raisins! Then of course no experiment is complete without eating something, so we opened a pack of raisins and enjoyed them!!

We also talked again about the Sun and we learned how Jesus is like the sun because the Sun keeps us from walking in the darkness and falling. As long as we are obedient to Jesus he is like the sun because he helps us to walk the right way and not stumble and fall. The curriculum gave me a badge for the girls to wear but we did it a little different, I just wrote the saying "Jesus is the light of the world" on construction paper and let them make their own picture, they really liked that! If we did the badge it would have been torn up all over the house by the end of the day. So now they have their special pictures that they are SO proud of!!
